Essential Oils of the Earth
Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)
Ylang Ylang means, "Flower of Flowers". It has an extensive history dating back centuries. Its therapeutic properties were first documented by two French chemists in the 20th century. They discovered that the oil was effective for a variety of health issues such as malaria, typhus and intestinal infections. They also noted its calming effect on the heart.
Ylang Ylang has a sweet floral aroma. It is a natural antidepressant, antiseptic and anti-spasmodic. It supports immune health, blood flow and emotions.
Ylang Ylang has been shown to act like a natural aphrodisiac and helps increase libido in both men and women. It eases frustration and anger, quiets negative emotions, and because of its ability to act directly on the olfactory system of the brain, inhaling Ylang Ylang can have immediate, positive effects on mood.
